Novak Djokovic is 21st Wimbledon Champion
Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios go toe to toe in this year’s Wimbledon men’s singles final at SW19
Novak Djokovic come back from a set down to defeat Nick Kyrgios to claim his 21st grand slam title in the Wimbledon men’s final. This is his 7th Grand Slam title.
The 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3), win gave Djokovic a fourth consecutive Wimbledon title, putting him one short of the Open Era record of five co-held by Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg.
Also, Djokovic is now tied with American tennis legend Pete Sampras for the second-most career men’s Wimbledon singles titles in the Open Era with seven, just one behind Federer’s record of eight.
Sunday’s victory marked career Grand Slam title No. 21 as well, which is the second most of all time behind only Nadal’s 22.
The winner of the Centre Court match will receive a cool £ 2 million. A fairly sizeable increase on the £1.7m Djokovic himself scooped last time out in 2021.

Now, Djokovic is back on top of his game, and he will begin preparations for the 2022 U.S. Open, which will take place in late August and early September in New York City.
If Djokovic can win it all in the Big Apple, he will tie Nadal for the most Grand Slam men’s singles titles in tennis history.
